History St John Ambulance

Esmarck was a producer of first aid. He was born in 1833 in a town called Schleswingen Hostein, who later became a famous surgeon who wrote two short books First Aid in the Battlefield and First Aid to the Wounded.

St. John Ambulance Association was established in 1877. Various branches were made by this organization to provide maximum education to the public, their main objective was how to help the injured before the arrival of the doctor and if the doctor is away, then till that time. How to transport the injured so that he does not suffer.

These branches gradually expanded their field of work, their work was not only to help the wounded and sick soldiers in war, but at the same time, first aid to women and men for the safety of civilians in peace time, home care and child welfare. The members trained in health science and health care also undergo examinations in this institution and certificates are given to the successful person.

The Association was established in India in 1904. The Indian Council of the Association was established in 1912, in 1914, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru served as the Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Association.
