Red Cross provided free cataract operation to 23 elderly people and also distributed blankets.

The poor and needy got relief from cataract along with relief from cold.

  On Thursday, January 11, Red Cross Society conducted free cataract operation for 23 poor and needy at Raja Baldev Das Birla Hospital, Machhodari Maidagin and distributed blankets to protect them from cold. Total free operation of 11 elderly women and 12 men was completed with the help of Eye Surgeon Dr. Vivek Singh and Medical Superintendent Dr. Shesh Nath Rai. In view of the sudden increase in cold, freezing and thawing in the last few days, the Red Cross Society today distributed blankets to a total of 45 poor, destitute and needy people to protect them from cold. To protect against cold, the Red Cross Society will distribute blankets to various charitable hospitals and other places in the city throughout the coming week.

Red Cross Secretary Dr. Sanjay Rai, Vijay Shah, Vedamurthy Shastri, JP Balani, Kamal Kishore Tiwari, Shri Bhal Shastri, Dr. Shesh Nath Rai, Dr. Vivek Singh, Anup Pandey, Ram Bhajan Giri etc. actively cooperated in the blanket distribution program.
