Program Description
Under the direction of the Uttar Pradesh State Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society, the Bhadohi branch organized a health camp and a health awareness seminar at the District Panchayat Girls Inter College, Gyanpur, as part of the awareness fortnight. At the health camp, 225 female students were examined by specialist doctors and provided free medicines from the Red Cross Society. Following the health checkups, a health awareness seminar was also held. Dr. Bharatendu Dwivedi, Secretary of the Red Cross Society, Bhadohi, welcomed everyone and informed them about the programs being run under the direction of the State Branch. Dr. Neelima Dhawan advised the students to pay special attention to hygiene. Students need to pay special attention to hygiene during menstruation. Some students were found to be suffering from anemia, irregular menstruation, and leucorrhoea. Dr. Dhawan provided necessary guidance on this matter. Dr. P.K. Singh examined the students' eyes and encouraged them to get regular eye checkups. Lack of regular eye checkups was associated with headaches. Dental specialist Dr. Swapnil said that more awareness is needed to protect teeth. Brushing twice a day is essential. Dr. Swapnil also explained how to brush. Dr. K.P. Mishra, who presided over the program, said that health is paramount; if we are healthy, we can progress at every step. He also advised avoiding junk food and consuming a nutritious diet, and adopting yoga and pranayama in life. On this occasion, the Red Cross Society, Bhadohi, donated a first aid box containing medicines to the District Panchayat Girls Inter College, Gyanpur. Dr. Neelima Dhawan, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. Laxmi Singh, Dr. Swapnil Singh, Dr. Ghanshyam, and others examined and treated the students. Red Cross members M.I. Khan, Arvind Bhattacharya, Sarfaraz Alam, Abhay Srivastava, Saleha Khan, Asif, Dr. Alok Kumar, Dr. K.P. Mishra, and others were present. Principal Mrs. Madhushree on behalf of the school family and Treasurer Mr. Harendra Pratap Singh on behalf of the Red Cross Society thanked everyone.
